This event was developed by the PCWHS and is intended for UK practising healthcare professionals only. The sponsoring companies have contributed financial support towards this event but have had no input into the agenda, speaker selection, or presentations.

Thursday, 26th November 10:00am to 4:30pm, at the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), London

This study day is the first in a Practitioner with an Extended Role (PwER) in Women’s Health training package for those working in, or preparing to deliver, extended roles in women’s health. It is suitable for GPs, nurses and pharmacists and forms part of a wider package of education including webinars, resources and a workbook. It is aligned with the NHSE upcoming framework for a PwER.

The first study day will be opened by Dr Sue Mann, National Clinical Director for Women’s Health at NHS England who will set the strategic context and introduce the new NHSE Women’s Health Framework. This will be followed by expert-led plenary sessions with interactive small-group skills workshops covering a range of topics including bleeding disorders, menstrual problems, Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) and urogynaecology cases and will close with an introduction to a digital workbook to record learning (case studies, clinic attendances, suggested skills) completed as part of the PwER Training Package.

Future sessions/resources will cover menopause and contraception and will translate national policy into practical, day-to-day clinical application.

  • Cost: PCWHS Members £75  Non-members £140 (or join for £49 + £75 = £124)
  • Places available: 70
  • Study day 1: 5 hours of education

This course does not provide an accreditation but does provide evidence that you are working at the level of a PwER in Women’s Health.
