The PCWHS committee comprises practising healthcare professionals with a special interest in women’s health and leading medical education specialists.
Dr Molly Anderson
GP, with a special interest in women's health.
Dr Molly Anderson graduated from Newcastle Medical School in 2003 and has been working as a GP since 2008. Molly developed an interest in women’s health during an early Obstetrics and Gynaecology hospital placement and now enjoys working with women in the community to manage their contraceptive needs, period and hormones problems. Molly is a trained coil and implant fitter, and a BMS accredited menopause specialist who has worked in both the NHS and private sectors.
Outside of work, Molly enjoys a busy life with her young family and their beloved black Labrador Ghillie – running, swimming and generally being outdoors.

Kerry Barnett
Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Kerry has a particular passion for women's health and provides expert care across all stages of a woman's life. Her specialist interests include menopause management, contraception, and the fitting and removal of intrauterine devices (coils) and contraceptive implants. In addition to her clinical expertise, she is a qualified gynaecology sonographer, offering comprehensive assessment and diagnostic support for women's health concerns.
Kerry divides her professional time between general practice, a dedicated Women's Health Hub, and a Primary Care Network (PCN) Specialist Menopause Clinic. This diverse experience enables her to deliver evidence-based, patient-centred care tailored to individual needs. She is committed to empowering women with the knowledge, support, and treatment options needed to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.
Claire Buckley
Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber with over 20 years of nursing experience.
She works part-time within General Practice and is the founder and Clinical Director of Absolute Health by Nurses, an independent nurse-led clinic in Essex. Claire has a special interest in women’s health and menopause care and has completed advanced training through the British Menopause Society (BMS), holding the Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care. She is also a qualified coil and contraceptive implant fitter, providing a comprehensive range of reproductive and sexual health services. Passionate about delivering evidence-based, compassionate care, Claire is committed to empowering women to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing. As a committee member of the Primary Care Women’s Health Society, she is dedicated to improving education, raising awareness, and increasing access to high-quality women’s healthcare across the UK.
Dr Louise Clarke
GP, Clinical Researcher and Medical Leader with a specialist interest in women's health.
She works clinically in Derbyshire alongside academic research at the Centre of Evidence-Based Dermatology, University of Nottingham, as a clinical researcher funded by the Wellbeing of Women and British Society for the Study of Vulval Disease (BSSVD). Her research focuses on improving the diagnosis and management of vulval skin disease in primary care, and she has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and educational resources for healthcare professionals.
Louise is Chair of Derby and Derbyshire Local Medical Committee and Treasurer of the BSSVD, where she is the Society's first GP council member. She is passionate about improving women's health services, education and advocacy within primary care and has contributed to national media, including BBC World News, to raise awareness of under-recognised women's health conditions.
Dr Nicola Kong
GP based in Gloucestershire, with an extensive special interest in women’s health.
She is a Registered Trainer with the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, holds an ultrasound qualification in early pregnancy and gynaecology and has completed the British Menopause Society Advanced Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care.
Alongside GP, Nicola is a specialty doctor in Sexual and Reproductive Health, where her primary focus is complex contraception, early pregnancy and medical education. She undertakes specialist secondary care menopause clinics in the West Midlands. Nicola worked for the Gloucestershire women’s health hub, where she was involved in education initiatives, updating local guidelines in line with national standards, implementing specific training pathways for health professionals and improving access to women’s healthcare. Nicola is passionate about empowering women, reducing health inequalities, supporting the ongoing education and training of her colleagues and improving overall access to women’s healthcare.

Dr Beverley Matta
GP Partner at Unsworth Group Practice in Bolton and Clinical Lead for the Bolton Women’s Health Hub.
I have a special interest in women’s health and am passionate about providing menopause care, contraception services, prolapse assessment, and pessary management within primary care. I am committed to improving access to high-quality women’s health services and have a strong interest in holistic care and lifestyle medicine.
I am also a GP Trainer and really enjoy teaching, delivering training that is understandable, relevant, and useful in day-to-day practice. As a mum of twin girls, I feel strongly about making sure women have good access to the care and support they need throughout their lives. Outside work, I enjoy yoga, running and cold-water swimming so I can eat things I bake!

Carmel McCarthy
Practice Nurse and CoSRH Registered Trainer with extensive Primary Care experience in both the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Carmel is currently the Contraception & Sexual Health Lead with the University of Nottingham Health Service and Chief Investigator of the RRISCK1 study, for which she was awarded the 2025 WoW/CoSRH entry level scholarship, investigating women’s experience of the subdermal implant and disengagement from hormonal contraception. Carmel is a member of the PCWHS committee and a volunteer for Nottingham Women’s Centre.
In 2023 she founded Macey SRH Ltd as a delivery platform for women’s health education and regularly provides contraception training.
Dr Belinda Solomon
MBBS MRCGP (2006) DFSRH LoC IUT LoC SDI
I am a GP based in Haringey, North London, with over 20 years' experience in primary care and have worked as a GP with an Extended Role (GPwER) in Gynaecology for the past eight years, based in Haringey & Islington Community Gynaecology Service, where I served as Clinical Lead for 2 years developing primary care clinical pathways which were subsequently adopted across North Central London ICB. I supported service redesign as we emerged from the challenges of the covid pandemic in 2021 and found the PCWHS resources invaluable. I continue to enjoy collaborating with colleagues in primary and secondary care to develop services and pathways that improve patient care and GP education. I am passionate about improving women's health services and ensuring women receive high-quality, evidence-based care throughout every stage of life.
Ellie Stewart
Gynaecology Matron and Clinical Nurse Specialist in Urogynaecology at the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust
Ellie trained as a registered nurse at St Bartholomews Hospital in London in 1993. Since qualifying she has nursed predominantly in the fields of urology and gynaecology. She has a keen interest in women’s health and sits on the British Society Urogynaecology AHP committee and the PCWHS committee.
She worked at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust as a clinical nurse specialist (CNS) in Urogynaecology for 15 years gaining significant experience in this area during that time. She is a nurse prescriber, undertakes independent urodynamics, runs the nurse-led part of the botox service, provides assessment and pessary fitting and support and advice to those presenting with pelvic floor dysfunction . She also provides a link with the maternity department for bladder care.
Ellie writes for the nursing press and speaks regularly on courses and education sessions nationally and internationally. She has been involved in development of publications such as the UKCS Pessary Guideline and the NICE pelvic floor dysfunction prevention and management guideline.
Dr Maitri Shila Tursini
MBBS, BSc, MSc, DFSRH, MRCGP, GP with Special Interest in Women's Health & Honorary research fellow in reproductive health
I am a GP with a special interest in women's health. I work in a women's health hub in London, where I run menopause education sessions and group consultations. I have a background in clinical research, and I recently completed my NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship, during which I worked at the UCL EGA Institute for Women's Health, co-developing and testing a novel digital intervention for reproductive life planning.
Dr Rose Walsh
MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, BMS Management of the Menopause Certificate, LoC SDI/IUT
Dr Rose Walsh is a GP working in Salford, Greater Manchester, with an interest in women's health. She is currently undertaking a post-CCT fellowship focused on improving access and equity in menopause and contraception care. Rose provides LARC clinics across her Primary Care Network and is developing a pilot PCN menopause service while working towards the CoSRH Menopause Care Professional Diploma.
Rose has experience reviewing emerging evidence and developing practical resources for primary care. She has contributed to updating the Greater Manchester HRT prescribing guidelines and enjoys supporting primary care clinicians to deliver high-quality, evidence-based women's healthcare through education and guideline development.
